Thereās something about coming home from vacation that makes you realize how much you needed a change of pace.
Lately, Iāve been leaning into a slower spring season ā quieter mornings, less rushing around, more time outside, and being more intentional with my routines. And honestly, Aruba reinforced all of that in the best way possible.
Instead of packing every day with plans, this trip became more about exploring naturally and letting the days unfold as they came. Mornings started with iced coffee and beach drives, afternoons were spent snorkeling in the clearest water Iāve ever seen, and evenings usually ended with sunset views and dinner somewhere by the water.
It was the kind of trip that felt simple, easy, and genuinely refreshing.
And honestly, it felt very āKeeping Up With Kassyā coded ā local coffee shops, beach sunsets, slower mornings, and those little everyday moments that somehow make life feel softer again. It reminded me a lot of the routines I talked about in my Spring Reset Guide.
So I wanted to put together a full recap of the trip ā where we stayed, my favorite beaches and coffee shops, what we ate, and a few things Iād absolutely do again if I went back. āļø
Why Aruba Was the Perfect Reset
One of my favorite things about Aruba was how easy it felt to settle into a slower rhythm there.
Back home, Iām usually balancing work, content creation, errands, routines, and constantly trying to stay productive. But in Aruba, the days felt uncomplicated in the best way. Wake up slowly. Grab coffee. Explore a beach. Find somewhere local for lunch. Watch the sunset. Repeat.
That rhythm reminded me how important it is to step away sometimes.
I also loved how safe and easy Aruba felt to explore independently. Having a rental car and staying in an Airbnb instead of a resort gave us so much freedom to experience different parts of the island beyond just Palm Beach. If youāre currently planning a trip to Aruba, I definitely recommend exploring beyond the main resort areas.
Where We Stayed
We stayed in the Palm Beach/Noord area, which ended up being the perfect home base for a first trip to Aruba.
It was close to beaches, restaurants, and coffee shops while still giving us flexibility to explore quieter parts of the island too. I especially loved having slower mornings at the Airbnb before heading out for the day.
If you love a mix of beach days, local exploring, and coffee shop hopping, Iād definitely recommend staying somewhere in this area.
My Favorite Aruba Coffee Shops ā
One thing about me⦠I will find the local coffee shops everywhere I travel.
Aruba honestly surprised me with how many aesthetic cafƩs and specialty coffee spots there were around the island. Some of my favorite mornings from the trip were simply grabbing an iced latte and driving to a different beach afterward.

A few favorites:
⢠Craft Coffee & Bar ā probably one of my overall favorites for both coffee and atmosphere
⢠Aruba Experience CafĆ© – PĆ¢tisserie ā perfect for slower breakfast mornings
⢠Arubean Coffee ā one of the cutest little coffee spots we found with such a cozy local feel
⢠Eduardoās Beach Shack ā smoothie bowls, beach views, and peak vacation energy
⢠SANTOS Coffee With Soul ā cozy, artsy, and such a good breakfast stop
The Beaches That Felt Unreal š

One of my favorite things about Aruba was how accessible the beaches felt. Every beach in Aruba is public, which made it incredibly easy to explore different areas of the island instead of feeling tied to one resort area the whole trip.
Some days weād spend the morning at one beach, stop somewhere local for lunch, and end up somewhere completely different by sunset.
And honestly, the water in Aruba genuinely looks photoshopped in person.
Arashi Beach
Probably one of my favorite beaches overall. The water was calm, incredibly clear, and perfect for snorkeling. We also ended up seeing some amazing sunsets here.
Tres Trapi

If you love snorkeling, this spot is absolutely worth visiting. We brought our own gear and explored at our own pace, which ended up being one of my favorite experiences from the trip.
Mangel Halto
This beach felt completely different from the others in the best way. Between the mangroves, calm water, and quieter atmosphere, it easily became one of the hidden gems of the trip.
Palm Beach
Definitely the livelier side of Aruba, but still such a fun area to spend time in. I loved walking along the beach at sunset, stopping for drinks or dinner nearby, and soaking in the atmosphere at night.
Exploring Beyond the Resorts š“

One thing Iām really glad we did was explore beyond the resort areas and see more of the island.
We did a UTV tour along the eastern side of Aruba, which felt completely different from the calmer beach areas near Palm Beach. The landscape was rugged and beautiful, with cliffs, cacti, and huge waves crashing along the coast. It was easily one of the coolest ways to experience a different side of the island.
We also did the Jolly Roger pirate ship excursion, which ended up being such a fun experience. Between the snorkeling stops, swimming in open water, and the overall atmosphere on the boat, it definitely felt like one of those classic Aruba vacation moments.
Outside of the excursions, some of my favorite moments came from simply driving around the island without a strict plan. We spent time driving through Arikok National Park, exploring different beaches, and stopping whenever something caught our attention.
We also made our way down to Baby Beach, which absolutely lived up to the hype. The water there was unbelievably calm and clear, and the whole area felt incredibly relaxed.

I also loved visiting San Nicolas because it felt colorful, creative, and completely different from the resort-heavy side of Aruba. The murals, local shops, and slower pace made it feel much more personal and authentic.
Food Highlights š½ļø

I honestly donāt think we had a bad meal the entire trip.
For breakfast, we kept going back to SANTOS Coffee With Soul and Eduardoās Beach Shack. Both had that relaxed morning atmosphere that I love on vacation and quickly became part of our routine while we were there.
For lunch, we ended up going to Zeerovers multiple times because it was that good. Fresh seafood, casual waterfront seating, and one of those places that feels like a must-do Aruba experience. We also loved Garden Fresh CafƩ for lighter lunches between beach days and exploring.
For dinner, a few spots really stood out:
⢠Lola Taqueria ā fun atmosphere and such a good casual dinner spot
⢠Gianniās Ristorante Italiano ā definitely lived up to the hype
⢠Flying Fishbone ā probably one of the most memorable dinners from the trip
⢠Passions On The Beach ā such a perfect sunset dinner atmosphere
Some of my favorite moments from the trip honestly happened around meals ā long breakfasts after coffee runs, seafood lunches by the water, and dinners that somehow turned into lingering at sunset for hours.
What Iāll Remember Most

Honestly, it wasnāt even the ābigā moments.
It was:
- Morning coffee runs
- Swimming in water so clear it barely looked real
- Staying off my phone more
- Long beach days
- Slower mornings by the pool
- Sunset drives
- Coming home salty, exhausted, and happy every night
This trip reminded me how important it is to make space for rest, inspiration, and moments that let you slow down a little.
And now that Iām back in New England, Iām already trying to bring small pieces of that feeling into my everyday routines again.
If Youāre Planning an Aruba Tripā¦
My biggest recommendation is this:
Donāt just stay at the resort the whole time.
Rent the car. Explore the island. Find the coffee shops. Visit the quieter beaches. Leave room for unplanned moments.
Thatās where the magic of Aruba really was for me. āļø
